FOR UNDERGRADUATE CHAPTERS:

Who attends the 67th General Convention from undergraduate chapters?

Each undergraduate chapter is expected to send three delegates to General Convention. The three delegates should be the following officers, serving for the fall 2019 semester/quarter:

  • President (Suggested to be registered as a voting delegate, to vote on behalf of their chapter.)
  • Sentinel (Suggested to be registered as an alternate voting delegate, due to the planned schedule and programming at Convention.)
  • Inductor (Suggested to be registered as an undergraduate attendee to fully focus on educational programming centered around new associate brother program, launching at the 67th General Convention.)

Please note: These three officers were selected specifically based on the business being conducted of the Fraternity as well as educational programming that relates to each of these officer positions. Every attempt should be made to register these specific officers, but in the event, one of those officers cannot attend, please see below instructions.

What if one of these three officers from my undergraduate chapter cannot attend any or part of the 67th General Convention?

If one of the officers elected to serve for the fall 2019 semester/quarter cannot attend any or part of General Convention for any reason, they will need to follow the waiver process:

  1. Complete attendance waiver form
  2. Wait for a response from International Headquarters professional staff on the status of your waiver. The result of your waiver may be one of the following:
    • You are asked to identify a replacement officer to attend General Convention in your place.
    • You are asked to attend General Convention as your schedule allows.
  3. Upon response from International Headquarters professional staff, follow the registration process either for yourself or replacement officer, if applicable.

It is the President’s responsibility to communicate this information with their three chapter delegates, ensure they follow the waiver process if necessary, and ensure all three participants are registered for General Convention by the May 31 early bird registration deadline.

What if additional brothers from my undergraduate chapter want to attend the 67th General Convention?

We encourage chapters to send additional undergraduate members to experience General Convention. There will be opportunities for these brothers to attend engaging personal development sessions, participate in ritual with brothers across the country, and experience business of the Fraternity being conducted. Any additional attendees from your chapter can register at any point, with early registration ending May 31.
