Call for Nominations: Grand President and Grand Council, 71st General Convention

At the 71st General Convention in summer 2027, delegates will elect the next Grand President and three Grand Council Directors of Phi Sigma Kappa. The Grand Council is the corporate board of the Grand Chapter. It governs the Fraternity between Conventions and holds its mission in trust. The Nominating Committee, chaired by the Chancellor of the Court of Honor as the Constitution and Bylaws provide, receives nominations, interviews every candidate, and presents a slate to the Convention. Nominations are open now. Convention dates and location will be announced October 15.

What is being elected

The office of Grand President (1), a two year term, and three Grand Council Director seats (3), four year terms.

Who is eligible

Any brother in Good Standing may submit a nomination. Those nominated must be brothers of the Third Degree or higher, meaning alumni status, in Good Standing with the Grand Chapter. Brothers with a question about eligibility should contact Danyel Holder (Danyel@phisigmakappa.org) the committee before nominating.

What the committee is looking for

The committee recruits candidates whose skills and experience complement the Directors who continue past 2027, so the Council as a whole is balanced the way any governing board should be. The committee’s profile of the skills sought this cycle will be posted here when it is complete November 1, 2026. 

How to nominate

Submit a nomination through the form. You may nominate yourself or another brother, and self nominations are welcome. Every nominee is contacted and asked whether he is willing to serve before anything else happens, so you do not need his permission to put his name forward. Nominations close April 15, 2027.

How the process works

  1. Nominations are received through the form and acknowledged by the committee.
  2. Each nominee confirms he is willing to serve and completes the candidate information the committee asks for.
  3. The committee interviews every candidate. Interviews are virtual and take place inside a single window in May 2027, announced in advance.
  4. The committee publishes its slate to the membership at least thirty days before Convention, with candidate credentials available on myPhiSig before voting.
  5. Delegates elect at the Convention business session.
  6. Under the Bylaws, only brothers who were nominated to and interviewed by the committee are eligible for nomination from the floor at Convention.
