Back in Emporia: Alpha Epsilon Recharters

Alpha Epsilon at Emporia State returned to campus and received their charter in early December. Chapter Advisor Michael Haynes (Pittsburg State ’16) describes the chapter’s growing excitement for what is ahead.

On December 8th, the Alpha Epsilon Colony at Emporia State University received their charter! It has been exciting to be able to re-charter the founding chapter of Phi Sigma Epsilon. It has been a long road for the colony. There were certainly a lot of twists and turns, but throughout all of it, the men of the chapter persevered and made it across the finish line.

The group was fortunate to have the men of the Beta Epsilon Chapter at Pittsburg State University in Emporia to be our chartering team. The chapter at Pittsburg State has been wonderful in mentoring our new brothers. They plan on continuing to help guide and advise the newly re-chartered chapter throughout 2019.

The men of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter are excited about their future. They have many plans in place that everyone is excited about. The Alumni Association recently purchased a fraternity house in Emporia. This fraternity house is three stories and has about 14 rooms. With some cosmetic work, the alumni are confident that this building will make a great home for our chapter! All the active members are excited to be moving into the property in the second half of 2019.

As the Chapter Advisor, I am excited to continue my service to these men in my role. I have found it extremely rewarding to volunteer for the fraternity and hope to continue serving the Grand Chapter for many more years. The men of the Alpha Epsilon Chapter are excited to be able to fully contribute to Emporia State University and to the Grand Chapter.
