Happy Founders’ Day Phi Sigma Kappa!

A Message from Grand President David Cohen

Brothers;

Today, as we celebrate Phi Sigma Kappa’s 152nd birthday, I am reflecting on the origins of our Brotherhood and the role Phi Sig continues to play in developing leaders – campus leaders, community leaders, business leaders.

Did you know that research proves that the fraternity experience is more relevant to today’s college students than ever before?

Fraternity provides:

* A positive impact on mental health. As many students experience stress, loneliness and depression, fraternities and sororities offer critical connection and a sense of community.

* An accelerator for success, in college and beyond. Because of the strong expectations and support network fraternity provide, membership creates stronger retention and higher graduation rates.

* A stronger connection to campus and community. Fraternity men are more engaged inside and outside of the classroom than their peers, more satisfied with their college experience, and serve their communities at higher rates. And as alumni, they report higher engagement and financial support than their unaffiliated peers.

Fraternity is special because men foster lifelong bonds that begin at one of the most pivotal points in their lives: young adulthood. Here, men find a home away from home. They meet older male role models who will help them figure out the world and guide them onto a path of responsibility and care for others.

So please take a moment today to reflect on how Phi Sigma Kappa shaped who you are, thank the Founders’ for their vision, call a Brother you have lost touch with, and support our Brotherhood in its pursuit to positively impact our world by participating in Day of Giving.

Our General Convention in Las Vegas is approaching and I hope you will consider joining our undergraduate Chapter leaders, alumni volunteers, and other alumni and spouses for a celebration of our Brotherhood.

Finally, thank you for the honor of serving as your Grand President.

Let’s keep Phi Sig moving forward.

DP.
